I know your car is an E30, but what is your engine? M40 or M42?
M40 is a single overhead cam 1.8L 4cylinder, while there is also an M42 engine... a dual overhead cam 1.8L . I don't know what engine you have in Australia.
-You could have a vacuum leak somewhere, likely in the boot between...
No, he asked if the chain needed replacing, so we told him "it's a belt" that needs changing every whatever thousand miles. It's better that we tell him it's a belt incase he didn't know the real deal.
Damn Ottawa people. You must be in politics.[unsure] ...or a sens fan[spank]!!
Could be...
yay. I hope they test a Jeep Wrangler against a Toyota FJ.... and maybe they'll rip a few minivans and pickups around the test track (drag strip). I guess I'll have to watch the pilot. $20 says the Cadillac CTS is on the pilot.
damn... 32K... I wish I had 35K. I'd rather have that for $32 grand than a 2002 M3 with 100,000kms. I only see 1 or two E30 M3's a year around here. I usually follow them around and drool for a while.
I checked Craigslist in your area... apparently there are not very many BMWs in Iowa. Start calling wrecking yards in your state... sometimes yards have days where you pay $50, and you can take out as much as you can carry. Work the phones. What is your parts car? What is it missing, and...
Man, you've got to cut that floor mat... it can't be sitting on top of the pedal like that.
What's wrong with your heater control panel?
I've never done a carpet before... Joseph should be able to tell you, he just did his carpet.
The 3rd time!!!! Really?! [hatchet]
[rofl] hehe, If you're not careful, I'll get the whip out again![eek]
Plus, there's all these I still have to choose from: [boxface][bash][kick][spank][slap]
hehe [cheers]
They're getting to be really hard to come by these days... the price of E30's is starting to go up for ones like that. 62,000 miles is low... my Mom's 89 325i only has 46,000miles (74,000kms). I'm waiting for just the right time for me to steal it away from her!!![}:)]
I've found that a car with a bad relay just won't start. A car with a bad fuel pump is the one that dies on the move. (happened to my GF's E30 525i a month ago.... checked the relays, and figured it was the pump... which it in fact was). You might want to try giving the fuel tank a few good...
well, like I always say, you can spend the money on labor over and over, or you can spend the money on tools once. Can you post some pics of your car? She looks nice in your sig pic.
no, it's not the solenoid, probably not the ingition switch... but it could be many, many other things. maybe a lazy fuel pump relay, or a lazy fuel pump for that matter. Bad ground is definately possible to (block to chassis).
Fair enough.
Well, that just sound like a BMW auto slush box to me. When was the last time you had the fluid flushed?
Some times you do have to floor it... that's where the kick down swith is... on the floor behind the accelorator pedal. See if you can adjust it, and maybe that'll pep it up...
