You should have a compressor and air gun too... It's an easy job with the right tools. The rears are actually really easy to do, both spring and shock. all you need is a ratchet set. the fronts are more of a pain. On the other hand, a good shop should be able to do the whole job in 4-5 hours.

a 1992 has OBDII? I don't think so. Might as well have the old fluid flushed out and new fluid put in. That should fix it.

You will need to do your shocks as well... chances are they need doing anyways. While you've got the front suspension out, you might want to replace the upper strutt bearings. It wouldn't hurt to replace your sway bar links either (front and back). On the rear, change your upper rear shock...

well, yeah, like I said, they're both the same block (M50), but different head to some degree. My advice would be to contact Active Autowerke and ask them. Browse through their site and check out how a nice turbo system should look, without any guess work. (No ebay turbos.) I'd rather not...

V6. Jeeze. I've heard of BMW V4's but not V6's. Who's charging you an extra $400. Do you already have a turbo installed on your inline6? Who's installing this kit, who makes it? The factory exhaust mandifolds are different, but that's not to say the turbo ones should be different...

Maybe, but why would a TC not slipping at high gear be a problem? It's not supposed to slip in high gears. It's when it's not slipping at low gears, that it would be a problem. You really need that manual gear box don't you?! The only converter I'd be worried about in this case would be...

naw, the 528e is actually the 2.7L M20... the 2.8 in the 528i is the M30. So you're partly right. [nutkick]

I've put a 528e engine into an e30... an '86 325e. I'm sure you could swap the engine, but you'll need to swap ECU's as well ("e" ECU does not work on an "i".) I'm 90% sure it can be done without many modifacations... then engine mounts should be the same... the "e" into an "i" has me guessing...

The a/c is missing 'cause it doesn't work, just like 95% of the e30's out there. Glad you got it off.

It's pretty late... I was about to say "just put a block of wood between the jack and the oil pan" but.... yeah. If you can get it under the bellhousing with a piece of wood, that should work... or even a bit farther back on the tranny. [scratch]
