Give me your opinion of this 325

I've always run 91 octane, but my cars are always chipped. Both my parents use 89-91, never 87.

^^ There ya go. Didn't know that. It must be under the hood on M10 318i models? (nobody know's 'cause no one ownes one any more!)

Give me your opinion of this 325

Yup, so there you have it... approx. $2500 as is, or$3500 fixed up a bit. $5K is no good. Cliff, the battery in the trunk has nothing to do with North America... it is factory for all 2.5-2.7L 6 cylinders. On all convertibles the battery is in under the hood, regardless of engine (4cylinder...

Give me your opinion of this 325

The battery in the trunk is stock... the plastic cover is too. Part #10 is the battery cover http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=1423&mospid=47322&btnr=51_1754&hg=51&fg=65 See if they'll fix the locks and windows, and then maybe it's worth $5K. I paid $7K for my cabrio, and it was...

Give me your opinion of this 325

I dunno, most of those problems don't sound major... the windows could just be the switches (or the circuit breaker if it's only the rear windows that don't work). Other than that it's your typical ontario E30. I see more of them that look like crap than ones that look good. My main concern...

    my deam car

The place that I bought my cabrio has two of those for sale... has for a long time, sans the Alpina rims, but still beautiful cars. One is a 3.0CSi and the other is a 2800CS, one in silver, one in black. They are very sexy cars, indeed.

awe crap, sorry Steve, your question was rhetorica. No more late night posting for me. Yes, he gets under my skin, and I can't resist... I take the bait every time. Can we change his name to "Forum Troll"?

    1991 535i

You might want to try taking your valve cover off and see if you have a broken head bolt... if not, it's your gasket. Get a pressure check done, and that should do it. An additive isn't the answer... additives usually only fill cracks in aluminum rads... not in gaskets, but you might be lucky...

    just being me

Just know that no-one here knows everything, which is why we're here. 1) To learn, 2) to teach, and 3) to share. There's no need to call anyone names, or put anyone down because they say something that doesn't ring a bell, regardless of intention. Quite a few of these guys in the E30 section...

    e30 pop quiz

Okay, well, I gave two correct answers for the M30, which has gotta count for something :) The tensioner question, I wasn't sure what you were asking... I figured you could measure deflection between the cam gear and the drive gear opposite of the tensioner to tell if it the belt is stretched...

I thought the saab site was lame

Okay, I'm going to say that Cliff is right about some models not having a fuel filter in the engine bay. Good. No problem. I can say for sure that my Mom 1989 325i and my 1991 318i have no fuel filter in the engine compartment. The only 2 people who claimed they had a filter up front have...

I thought the saab site was lame

Exactly, that hose is always going to be a problem, but what can you do? It's in the engine compartment, which last time I checked, is going to be better off catching on fire than anywhere else. If I was going to have a fire, it better be in the engine compartment, where there is a "firewall"...

And just to really get you whining, Joseph, here's a pic of my old 1992 Jetta riding on 195/55R15 snow tires on ASA rims and HD springs and shocks (its the black one on the left with the ski rack). I'm standing in the door of the cottage flippin' the bird!
