Looking at a car, you opinions please

Great little car! I love my 318i cabrio (same as a 318is). "needs a front shock" actually means "needs 2 front shocks". The 318is aka "poor man's M3" is tonnes of fun to drive... there's a great site dedicated to them including advise on purchasing one... http://www.esatclear.ie/~bpurcell/ I...

    Fog Lights?

Mad skills! I want those (rear fogs)... I also want headlight washers/wipers, and power headlight adjusters... can't find them arond here though. Ordered some fogs, should be here tomorrow... install to be done on wednesday if all the hardware comes with the lights (I couldn't be so lucky).

    Gas problem

My problem is on my GF's E30 '88 325i. She had a gas leak near her fuel filter which took me a while to find as it was a tiny pin hole in a hard line. I fixed the leak, but the inside of her car smells of gas. The gas sprayed through the pin hole onto the rear floor of the car and got into the...

    Fog Lights?

okay, I always wondered what the extra bulb spots were for. The only BMW I have seen or driven that had the extra switch was a E30 325ix touring that was imported from Germany... I pushed the button to see what it did, but obviously I never noticed anything different. As far as the switch...

    Fog Lights?

I see, makes sense, but my car doesn't have those (rear fogs). I dug around under the dash to find the fog light wiring, and found the plug taped to part of the main harness. Checked under the hood and found both wires to plug the lights into, hooked up the swith from my parts bin, put fuses...

    Fog Lights?

yeah, that's a good point about the contacts in the fuse box. I'll check that out in the morning. I just checked my old clusters, and one of them has a fog "light". I pulled it apart and it's really easy to change it up. Hopefully I'm lucky. What exactly do you mean by rear fog light?

    Bimmer Cruise '07

http://www.bimmercruise.com/ Anyone in Southern Ontario or Western New York would enjoy this... I've been to it three times (second time was pouring rain, so there were very few cars out... but saw an Enzo on the way there, so that made it worth the trip) but have never competed. They have...

    I finally took some pics

Thanks Dan. Actually, she knows I want to strip it.... she's got heated seats, speakers in the side mirror backing plate, full tool kit(already raided) map lights on the rearview mirror, and I want them in my car:) Oh, and she's got the proper glove box latch, I'm using one off an old E34 on...

    I finally took some pics

The interior... ripped seats, one tiny crack in the dashboard. Dirty... dirty... interior. The little M42... you can see it if you look carefully... There it is. Pretty clean engine compartment. The Koni adjustables, and the Intrax springs installed in May of this year. Top up... Top...

    weird temp gauge problem

the gauge itself is usually the problem. I've had my E30's do that, and swapping out the gauge does the job.

    Fog Lights?

My cabrio didn't come with factory fogs, but I would like to put them in using a facory switch (which I have in a parts bin somewhere). Would my car be prewired for the lights (wire from the switch on the dash, to the fuse box and wires for both lights somewhere under the body/bumper) or would...

    Moving battery to the trunk.

you definately don't need a fuse for the battery... you might have trouble finding heavy duty battery cable that is long enough at your local parts store, unless they have a spool of it. Otherwise you'll have to go to the dealer. I can get you a picture of the distribution block from my...

Help! should i buy this car

Yeah, that tranny is getting kinda old, and I would almost assume it's already been replaced or fixed before. Your first concern is going to be the timing belt and water pump. If they haven't been done in the last few years, they'll be due for replacement. You definately want a BMW specialist...

    Hello from California Bay Area

I would totally send my M6 in there (if I had one)... even living on the other side of the continent... If I lived in California, I would drop it off after work today!!! I like the line; "we'll make it well worth your while".... makes me giggle just thinking about what they'd do to it, hand me...

    2007 BMW Concept CS

My bad, sorry Dan. I read into your post the wrong way. I was just pointing out that the car was already in another thread, not meaning that it was a stupid post or anything. I took Dan's post the wrong way, but I was just puzzled as to why his was throwing me a bit of attitude, which I'm...
