Hello.

I have a 1994 325i which I bought when it had 60,000 and I just hit 679,000 miles on the odometer. No serious problems occured only few minor. Here they are:

- Lower cotrol arms and M3 bushings due to steering wheel shaking
- Tie rods, due to ball joint play
- Coolant level sensor
- Flasher relay
- Trunk lid actuator
- Washer pump
- Door seals ( those big ones) they were very noisy
- Clutch arm bushings
- Shift Knob ( broked inside)

And listen to this: The car has still the original battery. Almost 9 years old.[thumb]
OMG!!!!!!!!!! I have to see a pic of the odometer....please post.........[eek]

Noob here-1994 325i with 116,000 miles on it. The car is actually in very good condition with no problems. I just had new shocks and struts installed and had a new radiator a couple months ago. Interior leather is in excellent shape with no holes, tears or deep cracks. Still on the original engine and slushbox.

I'm seriously considering a new set of rims. Upgrade to 17" over the stock chrome 15" on the car now.

We are the second owner and bought the car with 65k miles on it.

No quirks, everything works.

Oh wait, the sunroof rattles and doesn't pop up when you hit the button to tilt it up at the rear. It opens normally sliding back but it doesn't pop up when you hit the forward button.

Good place for rims, this is where I got mine from:

Hope this helps. They hooked me up, I hated the stock 15 inch....but they are good winter tires.[thumb]

'93 318i Sedan

Purchased in 2000 with 95,000 Km's on it. Now has 230,000+ on it.

Replaced Battery

Driver + Passenger Windows (Manual) became excessively stiff during/after rain, which eventually led to them falling out of the railing and snapping the "White Clip" that runs on the bottom rail.

Try's to start on it's own. Sporadically attempts to kick over without turning on the ignition. Means I either have to leave it in Nuetral at all times, or use a Battery Isolator that I had to connect. (3 mechanics, and 2 Auto-Electricians have not been able to find the problem).

163k and it runs great.

Guibo, both rear drive axles, ac recharge, brake pads, leaky powersteering unit, aftermarket suspension, buncho dings and dents. Thats the stuff thats been fixed. Oil changes like a religion, nothing really big. Car is driving great - could use some new seats!

was it really an error, or do you just feel bad becuase everyone called bullshit on your 679K? Dont feel bad. "You dont gotta lie to kick it," as the timeless adage states.

Thanks for the curse. I don't have a freaking clue what's been replaced since before I bought the '94 325 with 68K three years ago. Now it has 96K. Next year I'll start checking the items you've listed. Only check engine light came on, probably time for exhaust sensors since I did NOT leave the gas cap off. Have to learn how to push the pedal real fast ( already knew about hard) for the self diagnostic.

Not sure if it will help...but throwing it out there. I heard today that it is recommended to replace the gas cap and radiator cap every 2 years. Might be some BS but replacing the gas cap might be a cheap fix. Just trying to help.[thumb]

Carcus if you were truly getting old you wouldn't have to worry about replacing the gas cap every couple of years intentionally. When you get old you get blessed with the occasional brain slip and in this case it could mean you forget to put it back on the car after refilling and have to buy one anyway. (It has happened to me but not with this car.)
Lights been on for 4 months, but the car hasn't got as much use as past years, my son at 2 1/2 yrs old doesn't know enough about how to keep sunglasses or goggles on his head to go riding in this carseat in the back with the top down. Next year maybe he'll understand and by 16 (or sooner) he'll have it ALL figured out.

93K miles. Bought 1 1/2 years ago w/62K miles. I have replaced the brake pads, spark plugs, coils, and 2 coil to plug tubes. The R&R's were my choice, not a necessity. Occassionally get a 'check engine' light as the engine temp transitions from cold to almost mid level warm. Believe it may be an emissions sensor going bad per a recall that i haven't checked with the dealer for. Fault code indicates a misfire of cylinders 5 & 6. Yet the engine runs great. I just reset the fault code. Have found that by allowing the engine to run for 2 minutes before starting out that the 'engine light' will not come on.
Since i installed the NOS, my 0- 60 time is 4 sec. I admit to having fun now and again. Although, i now must get the bottle refilled.
[cheers]

'96 Jet Black 328is

Bought in Sept. of 2002 with 75k miles, now has 92k miles

My case is a little different because I almost totaled it while vacationing in Vegas (doh!!).
Destroyed front right, so have all new a/c system, radiator, hood, headlight

Other fixes include:

A/C control unit
Interior lights
Headliner is starting to come off in some places, must silicone
Driver window's one touch up is messed up
Need new brake light switch (brake circuit fault)
Replacing speakers as I am writing this, adding subs, rewiring all speaks with 12 ga (pain)
Wheel shakes, so will need new bushings soon
Replaced belts, a/c tension pulley 2k miles ago
Religious oil changes

Few minor fixes other than the accident, the car runs perfect!!!
