Sport suspension?

Hey guys;

I always thought the "s" in e36 model names meant that it had the sport suspension (package). After doing some searching on this board, and being unable to locate any e36 (more specifically my year, 1995) 325i coupes, I ask you: How can I find out whether I have the sport suspension (package)? To clarify, I searched for 325i coupes because I read that (since 1995?) the "s" just meant that it was a coupe.

If this is of any additional help: I have the sport seats with the fold-out leg support, and the BMW roundel is colored on my steering wheel. So, I'm leaning towards the possibility that I might have the sport suspension (package). Thanks.

If you have 16" wheels then you have the sport package... 15" came standard.

The fold-out leg support and sport seats seem to say that you have the sport package also.

put your car next to another coupe and check the height of both rides. the lower one has the sport suspension. not that easy to find another comparable E36 coupe that does not have sport susp. for sure, but my best guess to be sure.

i dont think any 3series has ever had an LSD, unless i don't know what i'm talking about...which is probable.

almost all the e30 iS have lsds and the m3s do too

i nned to know if the e36 sedan has it. i know all the e36 coupes have it and i have sprot sus[enmsion so i was wondering if my car has it. form the way it burns out around vcorners i think it does.

On the suspension question I think the best way to check would be to take your VIN number to the dealer so they can look it up.

well i am a kid fisrt of and second i uaslly tpye late at night and am tired and it is dark outside and cant see very well. and i dont really car. i am also not offended by yuor remarks

92-95 iS's (or maybe all) had lsd's. as soon as they went to OBDII the only thing that kept an LSD was the M3 and it was a 3.15. the rest (5 speed of course) were 2.93

you mean my car does not have a lsd cuase my car burnsout with both wheels so doesnt that mean it has a limited slip and thats without traction control on. btw nice rims what size are they and did where didi you get them. [headbang]

got you so i dont have it. thanx. althoguht my dad had a miata wiht lsd and has an s2000 and when you burnout both wheels slip so either i missed somthing or its just a bmw thing.

Uhhh WRONG. On an open differential, if one wheel is on ice and one wheel on dry, the wheel on ice will sit there and happily spin all day. The limited slip will force that other wheel (with traction) to do some work. BOTH wheels spinning.

Though if a car has enough power, it can burn both wheels with an LSD. Generally you would need a locking rear diff to get both tires to leave scratch on the tarmac.
