MINI Pricing Changes for 2004

While MINI has only made minor pricing changes since its launch, the base price of the supercharged MINI Cooper S will increase by $450, effective January 1st 2004 to coincide with the beginning of January production.

The manufacturer's suggested retail price for the MINI Cooper will remain unchanged, maintaining its competitive price point of $16,999, including destination. The new MSRP for the MINI Cooper S will be $20,449, including destination. Pricing for available options and packages across the entire MINI range will remain the same.

I have a buddy who purchased one and he loves it. His other car is an M Coupe so he likes and knows his power. He said the handling and power are real nice in the Mini. I looked at one the other day and they are roomier than they look.

I think they could knock down the price alittle. The Neon SRT-4 is 19,XXX and the car runs a high to mid 13sec 1/4. I know its still a neon but BMW needs to realize that their are alot of Sport compacts out there and their cheap and fast. Not that the cooper S is slow, it runs a 15 sec flat 1/4 right? thats quick but its not as quick as its compitition WRX,SRT ect. So if you ask me the price is alright on the cooper S it just needs more power 200hp stock would make it alittle more impressive.

I agree that it needs more power, but the MINI wasn't really built to compete against an econo-box. People also pay extra for the build quality and name.

By the way, your sig cracks me up.[thumb]

Well said, 1/4 mile speeds are one of many measurements. The Mini I looked at was so well put together I had to smile. It was tight, smooth, handled well, and ran good. The interior was awesome as well.

Well alot of these other Sport compacts also handle well. What I want to know is, is BMW trying to compeat with other Sport compacts? If they are then they need to step up the their game. But maybe they are holding back because they are going to launch the 1series[;)]
