Hey,
So the MINI Cooper S, the performance verison of the MINI, features a supercharger that helps the engine produce 168bhp. This makes the MINI do 0-60 in 6.8 seconds....certainly a quick number, but not quick enough. Soooo, there is the available JCW kit that boosts horsepower to 207hp, which is even faster but still not quick enough for some people.
I just received an e-mail from MINI Madness (Http://www.MINI-Madness.com/) and they are coming out with a twin-charged system that achieves "300bhp". Here is the little description:
"That's right, Twin Charged, Turbo Charged and Supercharged.
By adding a Turbocharger to the MINI we are able to acheive significant power gains.
Working with the base SPI turbo kit the MINI's Supercharger is maintained allowing low end power to still be provided by the supercharger. At 2300 rpm the turbo kicks in, hang on to your butts! the power is amazing. We venture to say that the 300hp mark has been realized.
This kit will be ready in early 2005 for all you thrill seekers.
Call for details 503-466-6463"
Oh and for those who may have been wondering....for 2005 models, MINI offers an option Limited-Slip Differential (FINALLY!) for $500 extra, which will work perfectly with that 300hp!![Smile [:)] [:)]](/images/smilies/smile.png)
I guess I am way more excited than most people regarding this information....
