Help with noise under load!?!

In the last few (3,000) miles my car, a '95 325is, has begun to have a clinking from the engine when it is under load. I would say that it is knocking, but it couldn't be because the engine is automatically corrected from this, right? What else could the "metallic clinking" sound be from 2,000-3,000 RPM? I have been using 91 octane fuel if this helps out at all. I also recently debaffled the airbox(took out the plastic thing that held up airflow in the airbox) if that helps at all. Anyone know what could be the problem? I don't feel any loss of power but I rarely really accelerate very hard in my baby :) I really could use some help becase I have to take my car to school and don't want to have anything to worry about during the school year. Thanks in advance for any help.

Debaffled airbox, Euro clears all around, Eibach sportline springs, Bilstein Sport shocks/struts all around, m3 ltw rims, 225/45 Kuhmo Ecsta tires, Alpine deck, wired for sub :) [clap]

Its probably a hydraulic lifiter thats acting up. The clicking sound should speed up as the revs increase. Put your ear to the crank case and see if you can roughly pin point what vavle its coming from.
