I have a 1995 325is . The heater core was leaking and I am in the process of removal. I am using the Haynes manual (18021) 92-98 3 series for the repair.
The manual was relatively close in regards to the steps up to a point
1) I removed the necessary engine compartment components to get the (3) hoses disconnected thru the firewall
2) as directed removed drivers side lower panel and steel plate which allowed enough room to exposed the (3) metal heater core pipes so they could be removed. This was accomplised but the space is so tight they may not go back on !
The manual now shows the heater core sliding out horozontal to the drivers side....the issue is there is not enough horozontal space to do this and the core is not free to slide out of the compartment (it appears larger than the opening)
What is the correct procedure ? do I need to remove radio/heater buttons and front panels in center of the dash ? or is it removed from the passenger side ?
thanks
