Dropped my car off this morning for Inspection II, Oil change and all that stuff. I also noticed my car has not been having as good pick up as I remember and that my fuel consumption has gone up (i.e. worse gas mileage). I'm hoping there is nothing wrong with the car, other than the fact the oil is about 7500 miles old. I'm in class now and my car is all I seem to think about. lol. I love having class in computer labs. It makes it so much better when you're bored. lol. I don't think there really is a point to this thread. Sorry if anyone feels like they wasted time reading it; will post what shop says.

What the hec is "MAF?"


Yeah it is synthetic, but the reason it went so long was because right before I was about to take my car to get the oil changed I was in an accident and didn't have the car for 3 months. And once I got my car back I figured I'd wait another 2k miles and have the Inspection II done at the same time cause the shitty job of the auto body shop made me lament my vehicle. So it was really stupid to wait that long. THe shop told me that the oil in my car was over a year old and I should have replaced it when I bought the car in Jan. He flushed the system with some type of degreaser and he cleaned it with something and then ran a whole bunch of oil through it and it's running great again. Costed me $35 just for the oil (he used 10 quarts of synthetic; with some obvious flushing). He no damage seems to have occurred. Also he changed the coolant. My car even stopped making that funky noise in the morning. I am quite pleased. However, he didn't do the Inspection II; he said I still have 5k before I need it and it would be a waste to do it now. I guess he really doesn't understand that I wanted it done now cause I have the $$ to pay now and probably wouldn't later. wahtever.

I'm shocked so many people responded; I figured this would slip into oblivion.
