front end vibration

Well hopefully this new car won't cost a whole lot!!

When driving around 40-45 mph I am getting a slight vibration/shimmy that goes away when I speed up or slow down. When I let go of the wheel when it is doing it's thing, the steering wheel will do it's own thing (about 1 " left and right quickly). I have a bent rim that i noticed but it's on the left rear. I also have yokohamas that have good tread except on the inside and they appear like they are cupped a bit. I was considering getting the new rim for sure, rotating the tires and balancing them and getting an alignment before I replace the tires because the tread on the rest is good. Does this sound like a good idea or should I be looking somewhere else?

Thanks!

Matt

If you have aftermarket wheels, look into getting Hub centering rings to give the wheel a "true center". I had a similar problem and fixed it yesterday with these. These will run you under 30 dollars, hey it's worth a shot. Good Luck.
