Clutch Replacement

I am replacing my clutch but I have run into a problem. I've detached the shift linkages and removed all the bolts off of the transmission bell housing but the transmission is hung up on something. It feels like there is another bolt or something on the top but I've taken 11 off in the locations outlined in my Bentley manual. Has anyone done this and had a simiar problem or know what my problem might be?

Before removing - Did you tilt the engine backwards and secure it? If you don't, when the weight of the transmission is removed from the engine, the motor will tilt forward straight through your radiator [:)]

Did you remove the starter bolts? And you ARE pulling the transmission away from the block, correct? It won't just fall down and if you allow the transmission's weight to rest on the input shaft, you could potentially cause damage to it. The transmight just be stuck to the block.

yes the transmission is supported from below by a transmission stand/jack. I thought that it might be the starter bolts but they did not seem to penetrate the bell housing.

I don't know what its like for the 318 but my starter was bolted in and also had a pin that was corroded really well into the bell housing (had a seriously heck of a time removing it). You could try to remove the starter completely but honestly that is just a guess.
