You should be able to stay with the 3.3% rate they have now, I don't know why you would be paying a higher rate when you get your car. You are supposed to get the rate there is when you purchuse the car and sign all of the forums.

What did you guys not understand about this?

BMWFS-

The rate can only be locked for 60 days prior to expiration of the current lease program. If submitted right now, the rates will change at the beginning of June, therefore you would have 60 days from then. This is how it works in the US, not sure if its any diff.

Clearly understood, but your not answering or addressing the question. First off what you said does not apply to advent lease programs (in Canada anyways) and secondly, if what you posted is correct, I would have been ok to order what I wished, as I would have had the car within the 60 days!

It must be different in Canada then. It doesnt matter what the current program is here, if you submit while it is still valid, you hold the lock 60 days after the program expires. I think this is very fair, you cant expect a company to lock you in for much longer than that without being able to predict the future. Anyway, hope this helps.

Thief, consider yourself lucky.

I got my 330xi when they have a promotional rate of 4.9% back in March. I was told that I must take delivery of the car before 3/31 to take advantage of the rate. Now you are only paying 3.3% [?|]

Back then, the dealer was looking very hard for the car that I wanted (metallic black with extensive yellow package) and he found one and shipped it from Ottawa to Toronto.

I remember I signed the purchase agreement around 20th of the month. Unexpectably, I went on a short business trip and the salesman was all panic and reminded me repeatedly that I have to take the delivery before 3/31, which I did on 3/30. If the purchase agreement is a contractual obligation between the dealer and me, then I don't understand why he's so worried about the delivery date.

Well, first the 3.3% is a lease rate, and is promotional, at the end of the promotion the rates/residuals can change, the more I looked into this the more I found out they were well within their rights. You only order the car, but your contract is not firmed up until the car arrives from the manufacturer.

BTW mine is coming from Ottawa this week also. Where did you get yours in Toronto, what dealership, if you rather not open post, just drop me a pm.

I leased mine from Downtown Toronto.

The question is: If you ordered a vehicle that won't be ready until after 6/30, will the same rate (i.e. 3.3%) apply.

In my case, the sales did the search BEFORE I even signed the purchase agreement so it was never a problem. We both knew that the sales can be completed withing the time constraint.

I suppose your sales guy should be able to do the same thing. If he couldn't find your choice in stock, then the lease rate may change depending on the promotional event at that point of time. If you are ordering a 2004 model, I would say you are very unlikely to have a deal worse than 3.3%. Just check with the sales.

Yeah my sales guy did do a search but what I wanted was not available. The lease rate I am sure will not change from 3.3%, but I am sure the residual will drop.
