Help ! I am looking at buying an '04 330 CiC and it has been hit on the pass. door/rear qtr and the door and roll bars have came out. Can anyone tell me how to reset/retract the roll bars and also, do they have to be retracted to lower the top ? Same with the door airbag, is there a code that needs to be reset once the new bag is installed ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

mr

From the manual:

he rollover protection system will be automatically activated ia an accident or in a potentially dangerous driving situation (extreme angles in longitudinal-or transverse axis). After activing the system the bars can be retracted. Take out the screwdriver handle and special tool from the tool kit and put them together.
1. Pull out the head rest
2.Take off the cover from the rollover bar.
3. Insert special tool as far as possible into the guide of the locking catch mechanism.
4. Use moderate force to press the rollover bar down and release the pressure on the special tool.
5. Pull out the special tool and push down the rollover bar until it engages with an audible click.
6. Fit the cover bach onto the rollover bar and make sure it is tight.
7. insert the headrest.

I believe they must be retracted for the top to clear.

The airbag light should be illuminated on the dash. It most definitely needs to be reset with an AIRBAG code reading tool, not the same tool used for the engine management OBDII.

Thanks Kirby ! that's what I was looking for.

like it,

There was just one catch with this deal, the salvage yard that has it was selling the car as is, with all parts except the passgr door guts, for 15,700. I didn't ask 'em to quote it to me fixed ? I was estimating that it would be out of my price range.

I have it figured with the frame/body shop lined up to do all the work except for the door internals, everything complete and painted for < $20k.

I didn't think that was bad for an 04 330 CiC ? dunno.........
