I recently got an e36 m3 transmission and i was wondering if it would be compatible with my 95 325is and if so will it help boost performance or devrease the performance?
What transmission do you have in your car now auto or manual, and what M3 trnasmission did you get, an auto or a manual? Regardless, if you swap auto to auto, manual to manul I doubt there will be any performance difference.
my completely uniformed guess would be that the M3 transmission is much tougher, able to withstand the higher torque and probably rotation speeds of an M3 engine.
But the question was would there be any PERFORMANCE increase, the answer is still no! If you want to know if it is a more durable transmission, yes for most of the reasons tennisjazz mentioned.
