Stupid question Trunk Lock

I have a 93 325I 4 door. I've read the manual and tried what it said, but i still can't lock the trunk only. I can only lock the trunk by locking all the doors. I thought the door could remain open and the trunk could be locked?? Am i doing something wrong? The key goes into the trunk lock but won't turn.

When you lock trunk by turning the key horizontally and removing it, the doors lock automatically. Afterwards you can unlock and lock your doors while the trunk remains locked. When you remove the key from the trunk while it is in the vertical position, the trunk locks and unlocks along with the doors.

It’s not stupid; the only stupid question is the one that goes unasked.

You can only lock and unlock the trunk by using the master key.

If you don't have a Masterkey . . . . your gonna have to go to the Dealer and show them Drivers License and Title or Registration. Then they fax it to Germany.

Thanks for all the help. I have 3 keys for the car and none of them will turn in the trunk. The keys go in but won't turn.

Yeah, I can't unlock/lock my trunk by key either. It's been one of those things I just live with.
