Playing iPod in 2007 X3

I am interested in the 2007 x3 because of the built in aux port for my iPod. My questions are:
1. Where do I get the cable?
2. Will the iPod's battery be charged while connected?
3. Can I control the iPod from the dash board or I still have to control it manually?

I am mildly technology-challenged [???1] . Thanks.

I believe that is only a port for audio input, you will need an ipod interface to control
the ipod from the factory radio
