Yesterday morning I decided to replace the Bosh Platinum +4's of my 328i by the OEM Bosch two elements. I have done this twice since I own this car (3 years ago) same replacement same problem with OEM's. When the engine is at IDLE speed it misfires about 10 times per minute and under heavy load tehere is a slight hesitation.
Conclusions:
1. My car has one or more defective coils. It must work fine with the original SP's
2. The +4s needs less current to do the ignition job well, this mens they are much more efficient than the OEM's. I have no doubt about this, and you?
I think this test answers many of the posts regarding the +4's, at least for the M52 engine.
