fuel pump??

i need to replace the wiring on my fuel pump (if the wires are moved the pump cuts out) but now it takes a bit longer to start and sometimes won't start at all unless i mess about with the wires a bit, would i be better off replacing the pump aswell?

Is the malfunction at the fittings on the pump? If the pump functions I would not replace it, can you resolder the wires or is it the couplings that are failing?

it's just at the wiring thats visible when you take off the cover under the backseat, if i simply move the wires a certain way i can hear the pump stops working and then i move it back and it starts again, so i have tape holding it in a position now, the car does be lazy starting now sometimes which only started happenning recently, wat do u think? thanks man
