Anyone had issue with their clear coat peeling?

I have three areas on the hood and roof that are peeling.

To stop it, is this something I can take to a paint shop and they can just sand down the edges and spray some clear coat in the trouble areas?

Any idea of what I would be looking at?

Thanks,

Hey,

I have the same problem. Paint is slowly peeling off rear part of the roof. Paint is black, and the clear coat back in 1996 were not that resistant as the new ones. I'm going to take it to the body shop end of August. There is no fix, you need a full work. The guy told me $350 for removing all seals, sunroof etc ... and re coat the roof AND sunroof and garranty as long as I own the car. This will be just sand off and re-clear coat (not paint since It is not damage under It yet). If you find someone, make sure they remove the seals all around etc, not some cheap repaint if not It will pill off again. I'll take a pic of It so you have an idea how "bad " It looks like now on mine and will repost end august when job is done.

ps: the roof starting to pill off after a really heavy rain.
I lately used a dual action polisher to bring the paint back to life on the rest of the car and I protect it with Wolfgang sealant, super shiny, unbelievable deep of shine but I'm so scared for the rest of the car now!

If your damage is to the extent of Derouteur's you will have to get the problem surface re cleared, you could peel a little back and then polish with a cutting compound If its only minor.
