Thanks

I installed a MP3 converter in my 99 323I then moved it in to the 03 330I I picked up last Christmas. The unit is a SoundGate "SDSBMWDSP" soundgate.com this is great; to install it you pull off the left side panel in the trunk and plug it in to the AUX CD jacks, then run a Y cable out of it and connect your MP# player. Turn on the radio and change the mod to AUX CD and everything n your MP# now plays thru the Harmon Kardon System. I have a 6Gb MP3 that holds over 1000 songs. Good By Radio. Oh and the tunes I filled the MP3 player with, I checked out from my public library and ripped them for FREE.

MDoc, have no clue, but i dont' see why not.
mp3 decoding is just the capability the cd changer has, and don't think it matters what head unit it plugs into. (long as it plugs in)

hey fellow imola zhp-er welcome aboard! same year and everything..
Guy, can you control your DAP from the dash controls? if so cool.
as for that free music ripping comment.. erm....

The CD Changer for an E90 will not work in an E46.

But if you get a CD Changer for an E46 that was made September 2005 or later then it will play MP3s.
