Has anyone had a problem with their E36 4 cyl engine having a stalling problem while driving along? The gas pedal becomes dead until you disengage clutch- idle is fine- but when you let out the clutch there is no action until you get to full throttle then the engine takes off. The problem is not constant, but getting more and more so each day. No diagnostic work will show a problem. I've had two fuel filters replaced, a fuel flow sensor or air flow sensor replaced and still have the problem. One theory is that there is excessive play in the crank (only 82K on engine) that is causing timing to retard.
